Square Enix announced today that they will be expanding on the already semi-small Tri-Ace franchise - Star Ocean. Officials announced a new installment in the Star Ocean series, a tentative title of Star Ocean 4. The next two games won’t be a new installment, but an enhanced remake of Star Ocean I and Star Ocean the Second Story for the PlayStation Portable. No platform for Star Ocean IV has been announced yet, but I’m holding a strong breath for either the PlayStation 3 or the XBOX 360. Higher probability for the PlayStation 3 however.

Next, however a day old or whatever, Square Enix has announced details for another installment in the 20th anniversary edition special for Final Fantasy. Square Enix will be remaking Final Fantasy IV for the Nintendo DS, the same team that re-developed Final Fantasy III for the DS will be on this one. More features will be added to the Nintendo DS version and no release date is currently set.
