The former arcade exclusive, The Legend of Kage 2, has now officially been confirmed as a Nintendo DS release for all of Europe this November. The game is full of side scrolling ninja action and is now spread over two screens to make it perfect for the Nintendo DS.
Instead of simply filling one of the screens with an inventory area or other nonsense, they’ve actually made it so you can have some high flying fighting action going on. You have the choice to play as two different characters in this game: Kage the Ninja or Chihiro the Kunoichi. Each has their own storyline that you’ll have to play through to completely unlock everything in the game. There’s over 17 different Ninjutsu techniques to learn as well.

The Tokyo Game Show is coming up just next month and we’ve got quite a bit to look forward to. The event will be taking place between October 9th and 12th in Japan and will see some of the worlds largest gaming companies making some pretty significant releases. This is a very Japan-centric event so much of the news will just be for us to look forward to as a future release.
As always, Square Enix will be making an appearance and we’ll hopefully be able to find out a little bit more about the latest Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games.

On Friday September 5th, Square Enix officially withdrew their proposal to takeover Tecmo after the offer was rejected. The decision came from Tecmo seeking to merge with fellow developer Koei Co to help keep themselves more independent without losing what they have to offer. This sort of movement isn’t uncommon as of late considering that it such companies as Activision and Blizzard had recently made the same decision to safeguard themselves.
But Square Enix isn’t done with looking for other companies to purchase to expand their reach. President Yoichi Wada of Square Enix said that, “We are talking with quite a few companies in and outside of Japan. We are routinely in such talks”. When asked if they would consider persuing Tecmo again at a later point, Wada stated that, “If they truly dislike Square Enix, there is no point. All creators would leave the firm the moment the deal was done. It would be the equivalent of buying a building,”

With the recent rejection of EA’s takeover offer for Take-Two Interactive now off the table, it seems like the video game world may be in for a bit of movement over the next year or so. While Take-Two didn’t pull themselves off the auctioning block, they did refuse to lower their per share price any lower than what they had made public. This cost them the deal with EA over this past weekend, but that doesn’t mean they’re sunk yet.
As of right now the shares of stock for Take-Two are currently lower than what EA has offered the company, making investors and buyers more interested in stepping up to the plate. While there hasn’t been anything officially announced, companies such as Square Enix and Ubisoft are looking into the possibility of acquiring Take-Two. The issue is, none of them are likely to top EA’s bid.

The eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy title for the Sony PSP has got the green light for release. It will be hitting shelves and consuming days starting from the 18th of December. But unfortunately this date is limited to Japan and information for a North American release date has not as of yet been confirmed. The same is true of Europe so we’re just going to have to sit tight and wait.
But waiting for what promises to be such a great title is something I don’t mind doing. With characters from the whole franchise set to make an appearance, including Chaos. Plus there is set to be twice the amount of dialogue that was in FFVII with top quality voice acting promised. In terms of gameplay there will be epic one-on-one wireless gaming and fights based on individual skill sets
