Square Enix’s game Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors which is exclusive to the Wii will be released in the US earlier than originally scheduled. This is what Square Enix announced earlier this week. The game will be available in stores on February 19th, 2008 (as opposed to February 26th, 2008 which was the original release date.)
In the latest installment of the popular Dragon Quest series of games, players will take the role of a 16-year old living in the kingdom of Avalonia. As tradition has it, the young boy must undertake a number of trials in order to become a knight and earn his place in the Avalonian society. If the player passes the tests, then he/she has to fight against the monsters that have started to invade the kingdom.
Players will be able to use the Wii Remote as a sword to hack and slash the enemies which are going to be a large selection of monsters. The game is expected, as always, to have an interesting and exciting story to go along with the violence that is likely to keep us entertained for a long period of time.

Square Enix has now started selling the original soundtrack from the massively multiplayer Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urghan. The soundtrack is available for purchase on iTunes. Now, you can own your own copy of the soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu, Naoshi Mizuta, and Kumi Tanioka. Nobuo Uematsu who had been the main composer of the music for the Final Fantasy games since the beginning had only a small involvement in the creation of this soundtrack marking a transitional period of time for the franchise; Uematsu has since left Square Enix to start his own music company.
Final Fantasy enthusiasts can download all 21 tracks of the original soundtrack for less than $10. Over time, Square Enix has released the soundtracks for all games in the Final Fantasy series and no hardcore fan should be without the complete collection. You can relive the magical adventures and all the thrills by listening to your own copy of the games’ music soundtracks.

Square Enix is working hard to bring us the newest installment in the Dragon Quest series of games. The first Dragon Quest game was released in 1986 (under the name Dragon Warrior in North America) in much anticipation of its failure because of its theme which experts didn’t think will stick with gamers. As it happens, the game beat expectations to become one of the most popular games of all times spawning numerous sequels.
The much expected latest Dragon Quest Swords spin off game will be released in February 2008 exclusively for the Wii. Dragon Quest Swords gives a first person perspective view of the action and it is specifically written for playing it on the Wii and taking advantage of its revolutionary Remote simulating the hero’s sword. Nintendo Wii’s unique input device will allow players to enjoy the Dragon Quest adventure at a whole other level assuming that the implementation is well done. Players assume the identity of a 16-year old boy who has to defend the kingdom of Avalonia and his queen from an invading army of monsters. As the story progresses, information about who unleashed the monsters and ordered them to attack will become available adding an interesting storyline and mystery to the action game.
Japanese game enthusiasts have enjoyed Dragon Quest Swords since July 2007 but those of us in North America will only get the chance to play starting February 19th.
