Final Fantasy XIII Demo Longer Than Final Fantasy: Advent Children Complete Runtime
Since this past July when Square Enix announced additional information regarding the state of the Final Fantasy XIII demo, we’ve been dying to hear more on just what exactly we’ll be seeing on this demo and how it will come across. Fortunately, a recent issue of the popular magazine Famitsu had a chance to delve into this topic a little bit more and confirm some rather interesting information.
The demo of Final Fantasy XIII is set to launch on the same Blu-ray disc as the upcoming release of Final Fantasy: Advent Children Complete. The concept of launching this demo with the directors cut of the very popular Final Fantasy VII inspired film has been the most unique aspect of this release so far, until word broke that the length of the demo would actually exceed that of the film. With the original film totaling in at 101 minutes in length, and this being the directors cut, it is easy to assume that the length of the demo will be close to, if not over, two hours in length.
What does this mean for Final Fantasy fans? Well for the die hard fan, it means that you’ll have a taste of what’s coming in the next installment of the Final Fantasy series well before the average consumer. But for the rest of you, it simply means you’ll be playing through a 2 hour block of a game that will absorb your life, then have to play through it again when it finally launched. Harsh.
