The Monster Arena, is a minigame / sidequest in Dragon Warrior VIII. There are eight ranks in the Monster Arena, ranging from G to S. To successfully complete a rank, as well as move on to the next rank, the team of monsters you choose, must fight three rounds of three different monsters, ranging in diffculty. To beat and move on to the next rank, you have to win all battles consecutively and your monsters do not recover HP and MP. You also cannot control your monsters in any way, and the enemy monsters will be stronger than regualr monsters you fight in the field.

The Monster Arena is located southeast of Pickham, and to unlock it you have to Morrie, who runs the arena, Morrie is inside the outside the monster arena, but inside the buliding.
