Chrono Trigger DS Extras Revealed
For most people aside from die hard fans, there’s no need to purchase Chrono Trigger DS. The game has no updated graphics, no FMVs, nothing. However, those who are interested in the extra features included in the game might find a reason for purchase after all. The first big bit of news is a Monster Battling minigame. You’ll be able to control, breed, and battle up to 50 different species in an arena, where quite a few rare items can be obtained, either on your own, or against others via Nintendo WiFi. As your monsters grow, they’ll also change their appearance.
In addition to this minigame, there are also two new dungeons for players to explore. The first, Dimensional Distortion appears kind of like the Shivering Isles in Oblivion, as in, from no where. You’ll travel through time to overcome challenges in the dungeon and reach the very depths to claim a hidden power. The second is called Dragon’s Sanctuary and opens new gates to prehistoric and medieval times. Within the dungeon, you’ll have to complete various requests in order to continue. They gradually increase in difficulty until you move into a different era to complete it.
