Chrono Trigger Anounced For A Nintendo DS Facelift
One of the best selling RPG’s of all times is now slated to hit the DS in a brand new, revamped version. Chrono Trigger, a classic in the minds of Square Enix fans and those who owned an SNES have been witness to a sequel for the PSOne and even a remake with cutscenes on the PSOne, but nothing has fully captured the game as well as the original SNES version.
The revamped Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS is slated to hit North America over the holidays, so you’ll have to wait a fair amount of time for it, but you know it’s worth it. Square Enix has publicly announced that all of the original game elements will be intact, but there will be plenty of extras to entertain new and old fans alike.
Additions thus far announced include a new dungeon and wireless multiplayer mode along with taking advantage of the Nintendo DS’s dual screen and touch screen functionality.
While Final Fantasy IV did utilize the Nintendo DS’s 3D engine, the screenshots thus far show the game to be maintaining the original 2D look.
